A diamond shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 (3.18cm) in height displaying a background of alternating light blue and white diamond shapes, surmounted by a diagonally placed white polestar, bearing a red cross. Attached below the shield a maroon scroll inscribed with GREATNESS AND PRESENCE in silver.
The red-cross is emblematic of medical aid. The color maroon is associated with the Army Medical Department. The diamond pattern of white and blue recalls the arms of Bavaria, denoting the location of the unit. The white polestar provides direction as well as the areas exposed behind the cross resemble teeth, alluding to the Dental Health Activity. The silver metal denotes sterility and precision and also recalls medical tools and equipment.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved 9 May 2017.
